August 3, 2026: Earlier this week, I had to pull down the KFU forum after nearly 25 years online. I initially put a page up at the URL explaining what had happened, but the bots kept attempting to scrape the old file locations even though the files were gone, so I had to edit my htaccess to completely block all access to the folder. I put this note up at Atlantis 12345, but I'm cross-posting it here so that hopefully anyone who used to be a KFU member who may want to know what happened will hopefully be able to find it.

After 25 great years, I have unfortunately had to pull down our forum. Due to the rise of AI scraping bots who love to feed off old forums for training, the site was receiving so much bot traffic that my web host suspended the site. I tried blocking this traffic with the methods I knew how (such as a robots.txt file), but unfortunately, that method only works if the source of the bot is willing to respect your website's rules. Looking at the bot traffic today, too many of them were not, and the site was going to get suspended again. Options like Cloudflare are outside my budget, so I had no choice but to pull the forum down.
The entire forum has been archived by the Wayback Machine, and all posts should be accessible here. I also have backups of the database and files in case there's anything missing from the archive, but as far as I could tell, it was all there. (Especially Keran Shadlag's Atlantean language posts, which I know were so important to the fandom!)
Thank you all for being such a wonderful community. I know most of us have gone on our own way over the years, but I always loved and appreciated seeing old friends return to the board after many years away and seeing what you've been up to. If you are one of our old visitors and come back to find this post and would still like to reconnect, please feel free to send me an email any time.
